Mindie Does Indy

Hello! It’s been a busy couple months personally and professionally, and I can’t say thanks enough for your patience and understanding!

I have a lot to catch you up on, including my last month in Indy before we moved back to Washington!

I began my full-time art career in Indianapolis back in 2014 and I was honored to have had a handful of opportunities to showcase my artworks there before moving away, not to mention a couple opportunities to work live even!

My last month was beyond busy between organizing the move and packing it all up, all while continuing to run my business which includes making the product, and all while during the busiest time of the year for a maker!

Indy Art Mart is held on Small Business Saturday and an awesome opportunity to shop & support local small businesses. There’s a handful of events going on around town and around the country in honor of SBS, but the Indy Art Mart features Hoosier Artisans specifically. It was my first time popping up shop on SBS and an honor to have been included! Here’s some pics from the day:

Monster Drawing Rally was back this year and I was invited back, too! Hosted by the Indianapolis Museum of Art & Newfields, it’s such a fun way to raise funds for their art programming! With the impending move I didn’t get near as “involved” as I had last year but I was able to pre-draw a couple illustrations just for the occasion in addition to the artworks I created live during my one-hour round! Here’s some pics from the event. Click here to read about last year’s MDR.

The Last Friday of the year and month brought the perfect opportunity to showcase my artworks one last time in Indy before hitting the road. Art is normally celebrated the First Friday, Saturday or even Thursday of the month depending on what city you’re in. So it seemed perfectly fitting to wrap up my time in Indy with a Last Friday event! My friends over at Light Matter Promotions stepped in to curate the event and in addition to including a couple local lady artists to showcase with me, they also included an amazing line-up of local musicians! It was an awesome night of art & celebrations and I also got to finish a painting LIVE (collaboration piece with Miranda Thomas).

As I work to transition back to life in Washington I’m also working to determine what’s next for Aries Art. It’s important to me not to lock myself down to too much at this time, so that I can remain open to the right opportunities when they present themselves. I’m always looking for pop-up events, exhibition opportunities and more, but also have a criteria for the events I’ll accept, invest in and commit to.

I’m actively seeking & booking events up and down the West Coast and also hope to return to the Midwest to exhibit again one day, too!

Subscribe to my website here for updates on events booked near you and don’t hesitate to reach out if you know of something I should consider!

Thanks for reading- I’ve got a lot more to catch you up on and will be posting again, very soon!

Much love,

Mindie
